Privacy policy · effective 30 October 2026

What we keep, and why.

Farthest Light is a game by Analog Elk ("we"). This policy says what the game does with information about you. Playing against the AI offline sends us nothing. The rest of this page covers online play, accounts and purchases.

Stays on your device

Your settings, your last skirmish setup, and your mute and block lists are saved on your device and never leave it. Deleting the game removes them. Your operating system may include them in its own backups, which Apple governs.

Playing online

When you host or join a game with a join code, your device connects to our game server (play.farthestlight.gg). To run the match the server receives your display name, your device type, your game version, your orders, and your network address.

Text chat, quick chat and pings

Typed text is a Pro feature. Free players have pings and quick-chat lines. Quick-chat lines and typed text are shown to the other players in your match by the server. We do not store a chat line unless it is part of a report (below). Typed text is checked by a word filter on your device and on the server.

Reports

If you report a player, we receive: the match id, your player id and theirs, the reason and note you chose, the last 50 chat lines (text and quick-chat ids), and your game version. We use it to review the report and act on it. Reports are kept for 90 days and then deleted, longer only if an investigation or a legal duty needs it. If you wrote to support we reply to you with the outcome; otherwise the player concerned sees an in-game notice.

Crash reports

If the game crashes, it sends the device model, operating system, game version and crash details to our crash-reporting provider, Sentry. These are not linked to your player id and are sent without your network address. You can turn this off in Settings > Account and Pro > Privacy.

Ads (free players on iPad)

Our advertising partner (AppLovin, and the ad networks it works with, including Google and Unity) receives device and advertising identifiers, ad interactions, diagnostics and an approximate location derived from your network address, to show and measure ads and prevent fraud. On iPad, after your first finished match, the game asks through Apple's tracking prompt whether it may track you across other companies' apps and websites. If you allow it, our advertising partner and its ad networks, including Google, can use your device's advertising identifier (IDFA) to show and measure more relevant ads. If you decline, you still see ads, they are just less relevant, and the game does not read the identifier. You can change your answer any time in iPad Settings > Privacy & Security > Tracking. Pro has no ads and is never asked. In the EEA, UK and Switzerland you choose your ad consent (through Google's consent form) before the first ad, and can change it any time in Settings > Account and Pro > Privacy > Privacy choices. The Mac version shows no ads.

Service providers

Amazon Web Services (game servers, US West), Sentry (crash reports), AppLovin and its ad networks (ads for free players). We do not sell your personal data.

Children

The game is not directed at children under 13 and does not ask anyone for contact information. We only hold an email address if you write to us, and only to answer you. Players who say they are under 13 get quick-chat presets only: no typed text.

Changes

If this policy changes, we update this page and the date above, and update the app store privacy information before the new version ships.
